The Framework for Creative Griefwork Using Tarot

In Tarot for Creative Griefwork, we begin by gently tracing a circle around the wound. Where does it live inside you? What is its shape? What does it feel like? Like a prism, we’ll hold it up to the light, noticing how it refracts into different colors. The wound may at first seem unrelated to the area of grief and we explore where they may meet and communicate within you and where they may splinter.

We look at your support areas, the people, things, and ideas you have around you that you can lean on and work with during this process. We look at incoming forces and the opportunities they may bring. Together we braid these threads and play with possible outcomes.

Like the moon or the seasons, grief has its phases. We’ll ground our session in the phase(s) you are currently experiencing: germinating, fruiting, releasing, or resting, and discuss ways of honoring the space, while facilitating movement to the next one. This can include suggestions for self practice along various modalities such as visualization, writing, and ritual work.
